The Velozzi team is planning to unveil its two plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, one for its mainstream category and other one is for the alternative division: the Velozzi and the Velozzi X1. The launching of latest Velozzi masterpiece marks the beginning of the company’s undying support for for our ailing planet. The company also managed to partner with Capstone Turbine as they plan to incorporate the Capstone’s microturbine C65 and C30 to its hybrid cars. Previously used by trolleys, busses and shuttle, these microturbines are used as a generator that can run on compressed natural gas, ethanol, propane, jet fuel, bio-diesel and even methanol. Capstone’s multi-fuel usage and range-extending microturbines are its huge advantage as it requires less maintenance compare to a conventional combustion engine and produces ultra low emissions. Utilizing the Department of Energy funding, Capstone managed to develop a state-of-the-art flexible-fuel turbine that can be used on hydrogen and syngas produced from agricultural materials. Velozzi is the first automaker to integrate Capstone into its passenger cars. Another big name who partnered with Velozzi is Bayer MaterialScience. The partnership turns out to be beneficial as the company incorporates a super-light carbon fiber nano tubes to provide the cars with plastic body panels. By integrating nano tubes into epoxy resin the vehicle’s mechanical performance has improved as well as it resistance to impact, cracking, fatigue and compression without compromising its other composites. By increasing 40 percent of its mechanical properties while reducing its weight is what Carbon nanatube is made for. In fact, most materials of Velozzi’s electric vehicle are reusable as it helps reducing the vehicles overall carbon footprint. A world class leader in material science, BMS is bringing something new to the table as it provides project extensive know how and its automotive application engineering experience. Together with Bayer, the company is set to deliver commercially viable alternative energy vehicles (AEV) as they plan to mass produce it to the global market. Though company is new to the automotive industry they never seize to amaze its competitors with its ingenuity and advance automotive technology. Velozzi Supercar The high performance Velozzi Supercar is the company’s first plug-in hybrid vehicle. The Supercar is a sleek 200-mph sports car that uses a 550-kilowatt and 770-horsepower AC induction motor. These high-powered motors can charge by a 65-kilowatt Capstone microturbine-generator. Its acceleration power is from 0-60 miles per hour in just three seconds. This model is an all electric crossover that caters to upscale eco-friendly consumers, the perfect electric vehicle for urban driving. Talking about the Supercar’s potential, the EV can operate on 100 percent battery power with a range of up to 200 miles. But after exhausting its pre-determined state of discharge, the Supercar’s microturbine recharges its battery that range up to 1,000 miles. The Supercar is showing a lot of potential as it features cutting-edge technology that any owner is proud to have. Velozzi SOLO The Velozzi SOLO is a crossover hybrid model that looks like Infinit FX in terms of its design. Unveiled at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), the SOLO features modular automotive architecture and multi-fuel microturbine battery charger. Set to begin production by 2012, the Velozzi SOLO captures everything that an electric car should have. Its 30-kilowatt Capstone microturbine is omnivorous with the power run in any fuel. By capitalizing a number ways in terms of production of its vehicles, Velozzi is keeping an eye on the modularity and effectivity. Ever since its inception, all Velozzi’s cars are fitted with microturbines.
